Dr. Allison Poche was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She attended Louisiana State University, receiving her bachelor’s degree in Animal, Dairy, and Poultry Science. She then attended the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine and studied acupuncture and integrative medicine at the Chi Institute during this time. In 2020 she graduated in the top 10 percent of her class, receiving her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Allison is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association, and the Southeast Louisiana Veterinary Association, of which she was a board member from 2022-2024. Her special interests include dermatology, integrative veterinary medicine, nutrition, dentistry, and preventative care.
Dr. Allison has always had a love for animals, starting at a very young age. She grew up working with a wide variety of species, ranging from dogs and cats to rabbits and horses. She later worked at several veterinary clinics throughout her time in school as a kennel and veterinary assistant.
Dr. Allison moved to the New Orleans area in 2020 with her husband, her rescue pitty, Pippa, and her horse, Rebel. She loves spending time doing yoga, horseback riding, reading and cooking. She and her husband are also big foodies, and always have a great new restaurant recommendation!
