Dr. Claire Zotkiewicz - Veterinarian

Dr. Claire Zotkiewicz was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana and attended Louisiana State University studying Animal, Dairy, and Poultry Science and Business Administration.

She went on to attend Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine, and by her fourth year became a Fear Free Certified Professional and an IVAS Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist. She was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2020, graduating in the top ten percent of her class.

Dr. Claire is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association, the Southeast Louisiana Veterinary Association, and the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. She has also obtained continuing education certifications in small animal abdominal surgery, dentistry, and ultrasound. Her interests include wellness and preventative medicine, integrative and complementary medicine, nutrition, behavior, and dermatology.

Dr. Claire became interested in veterinary medicine at the young age of 11 when she attended a summer camp at the Louisiana SPCA learning how to care for and train companion animals. Afterwards, she spent every summer for 5 years helping care for adoptable animals, assisting in adoption interviews and behavioral evaluations, teaching in the summer camp, and mentoring others to become volunteers at the SPCA. She obtained her first veterinary assistant job her senior year of high school and continued working as a veterinary assistant throughout college and veterinary school.

In her spare time, Dr. Claire loves exploring new restaurants and attending events around New Orleans. She also enjoys spending outdoor time and traveling with her two rescue dogs, Chloe and Rusty, and her rescue cat, Benito.
